Here it is then: Stackridge Official Bootleg No 1 ... the record of a memorable live performance at Cropredy 2000 from this formidable new band.  This is Stackridge, woken from a 20 year sleep, stepping out fresh as a daisy on a big stage for the first time in many years. In honour of this special occasion, we are proud to introduce Maire Gerrard, a scrumptious rhubarb babe if ever I saw one, on the cover.  Rhubarb Thrashing appeals to children of all ages, it seems!

For Stackridge, this performance was very much about the next generation.  The band were delighted to introduce Ruth Evans (Mike's daughter) and Nina Smith, whose wickedly witty dance routines, additional vocals and expert fiddling delighted the audience.  The photo on the cover was taken by George Walter, Crun's son.  Stackridge strongly support "The Youth Of Today".

Three fiddles in a rock band...exciting or what?  On this CD you can look forward to hearing this stunning top-line in action on 'Fish In A Glass', 'Help Under Doors', and 'February In Shropshire' - a classic Stackridge instumental never recorded before.

This is veritably a CD not to be missed!

PICK OF THE CROP

DAP104CD

When you bake a cake, you stir the raw ingredients together and place them in a hot oven. A certain alchemy takes place before you lift out the finished mouthwatering delicacy . Those who witnessed Stackridge's performance at Cropredy 2000 saw a similar magic at work.

The ingredients? Take a selection of finely-crafted songs; throw in some great melodies; add versatile and exciting musicianship; stir in a generous dollop of family; combine with ridiculous humour in the best English Music Hall style and place this mix in front of an audience that "lets its hair down" pantomime-fashion. Lace with a double-helping of English subversive absurdity and leave to rise. The result? Magical sunshine-filled music and mayhem. Listen for yourself. It'll bring a smile to your face and a spring to your step. It's the perfect antidote to those chill grey November blues.
